5 Twilight Wigs That Slay and 5 That Suck
3. Sucks – Bella in Eclipse
There is only one movie in which Kristen Stewart wore a wig for the character of Bella, and that is Eclipse. She sometimes had extensions, particularly in Twilight, because she was still underage whilst filming so could not legally be on set for as many hours as the other actors, making the use of extensions a precious timesaver in the hair and makeup department.
The wig in Eclipse was entirely different…
Stewart had cut her hair into a sick mullet for her role as Joan Jett in The Runaways (2010), which is really cool but not at all how simple Bella would style her hair. The unfortunate solution was the dreaded Eclipse wig.
In every scene, Bella’s hairline would shift, and the way it sat on her head during the training camp scenes was… grim.
The wig fit like a hat, her ears completely covered and the front strands of hair pulled limply into a half-pony. It’s not cute, and it’s not fun.

3. Slays – Rosalie in Eclipse
Whilst Bella’s Eclipse wig was sitting sadly on her head, Rosalie’s wigs were serving revenge in style.
The third instalment in the saga gives us our first insight into Rosalie’s cold demeanour, as she opens up about her human life to Bella. It was 1933 when Rosalie was changed, and she was 18 at the time. She had grown up in a wealthy family, even through the depression, and her appearance in these flashbacks are reflective of that.
Her hair is the most interesting visually. We have mostly seen Rosalie with her hair down, loosely curled, but these flashbacks allow us to see her completely done up, her hair meticulously curled and pinned into a classic updo. These windows into the past, these half-living figures of history, make the concept of vampires so inviting for us as an audience.
Rosalie’s flashback also plays host to another incredibly iconic Twilight moment: when we learn of how Rosalie got revenge on the men who attacked her and left her for dead. The image of her bursting through the doors to kill her ex-fiancé, with her hair still in its classic updo, but also donning a wedding gown and deep red vampire eyes, is such a ‘good for her’ moment.
This one is for the girlies.
