2. Perry’s Pistol
A grisly ending seems imminent for these two unlikely heroes. Harry’s cries of pain echo down the halls as their assailant electrocutes him. The stakes are high, and Perry decides to goad the man. Much to Harry’s disbelief.
Perry uses the homophobia he constantly encounters to his advantage and shoots the orderly ‘with the small revolver I keep near my balls.’ A delightful spin on every leading man who’s ever talked his way out of an approaching laser beam, advancing circular saw, or encroaching pool of piranhas.
1. “They gave her back?”
Harry, only just recovering from the fact that Harmony is actually alive, discovers the body of the girl from the lake callously shoved into his shower. From urinating on the body, to dropping her off a roof and onto the edge of a dumpster, our jaws are encouraged to drop again and again. Absolutely nothing about this escapade goes right.
The lack of finesse on display as they handle this poor dead woman is fitting in a film so lacking in nuance. It’s in your face with its humour, its profanity, its subject matter.
Harry is completely out of his depth and it is a true indication of how ill-equipped this group are for the situation they find themselves in.
