The 2018 Golden Globe Awards – The Film Nominees
The nominees for the 2018 Golden Globes have been revealed, with The Disaster Artist being welcomed to the table as a nominee in multiple categories and Guillermo Del Toro’s The Shape of Water making a splash to score a number of nominations including the Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy category. Notable by its absence is The Big Sick, Kumail Nanjiani’s drama-comedy that has received a lot of awards season buzz but has been dismissed across the board by the foreign press. Similarly, the Globes’ perceived lack of representation for Get Out has caused quite a stir, with Greta Gerwig also missing out on the Best Director category despite universal praise for her role at the helm of Lady Bird.
