5. Get Out
When the tension of the garden party seems unable to get any more palpable, Chris notices Andre (LaKeith Stanfield). Andre is the first black person Chris has seen in New York that doesn’t work for the Armitage house. His relief is palpable.
There is something off about Andre though; a vacant look, a lack of cultural awareness, and an odd choice of wife. Chris snaps a picture of the odd man to send to Rod. The flash wakes something in Andre. He seizes, runs at Chris and screams “Get Out.”
If only Chris had listened.
4. Antlers
The one true jump scare.
Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) running Dean Armitage (Bradley Whitfield) through with a stag’s head. Given Mr Armitage’s treatment of black people and his rant about the plague of deer, his demise is doubly fitting.
Chris’ mini rampage is another way in which Get Out subverts expectations. Usually, we’re not on the side of the killer.

3. TSA to the Rescue
Each Armitage is dead. Almost. Chris is sweating, shaking and bloody. Rose is gasping for air. Sirens approach in an unnerving callback to the police officer from the beginning of the film. We understand the trepidation on Chris’ face, he knows the risk of being a black man next to a dying white woman.
Chris’ slowly lifting arms and look of resignation after all that he’s been through is heartbreaking. Our disappointment is huge, Rose Armitage is going to win.
But no. The car door opens, “Airport” splashed across the side. It’s Rod. Our hero is saved.
