Mortal Media, the company developing the remake of ‘The Rocketeer’, are teaming with ‘Black-ish’ creator Kenya Barris to bring a remake of White Men Can’t Jump (1992) to the big screen.
Twentieth Century Fox will be financing the project, with Los Angeles Clippers basketball player Blake Griffin and Carolina Panthers football player Ryan Kalil making up the producing team with their Mortal Media partner Noah Weinstein.
The original White Men Can’t Jump was written and directed by Ron Shelton, starred Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson as a pair of unlikely basketball hustlers, and made a hefty profit with a $90million run at the Box Office for Fox. It later became somewhat of a cult classic that is now widely considered one of the US’s greatest fictional sports movies.
There is currently no news on which actors will claim the iconic roles.
