Quentin Tarantino today confirmed rumours of his impending retirement at the Adobe Max creativity conference in San Diego.
The director of titles such as Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds and The Hateful Eight, asserted that he would not direct past his tenth film, meaning that he only has two more left to make (given that he includes Kill Bill vol. 1 & 2 as one movie).
The director was typically to-the-point when commenting on the retirement, stating:
‘I’ve got two more after this. Drop the mic. Boom. Tell everybody. Match that shit..’
The filmmaker added that he wanted to go down in history as one of the best directors and artists of all time when all is said and done, but that he’ll feel good making a ten film filmography.
