Michael Shannon To Join ‘Knives Out’

2-time Oscar nominated actor (Revolutionary Road 2009; Nocturnal Animals – 2017) and co-star of 2018 Best Picture winning film The Shape of Water, Michael Shannon, is reportedly in talks to join the latest film from Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi screenwriter-director Rian JohnsonKnives Out.

While information surrounding the story of Knives Out remains largely under wraps, reports from Variety of Shannon’s casting mark the 2nd time in a week that Johnson’s “whodunit” mystery-thriller has seemingly cast a major name, with Infinity War star and Marvel stalwart Chris Evans joining last week on the very day he announced his retirement from the role of Captain America.

With talks seemingly at an advanced stage, Shannon would become the third major name on the film’s cast following Evans and current Bond star Daniel Craig.

Knives Out will reportedly begin production as early as November, with filming expected to be wrapped by the time Craig is due to begin shooting on Bond 25 in January 2019.

No release date has yet been revealed.
