The screenwriter-directors behind Paranormal Activity 3 & 4 (2011/2013), Nerve (2016) and Viral (2017), will be tasked with bringing the famed Capcom video game character to life under the Chernin production banner of Fox, the same people who have brought Hidden Figures and War for the Planet of the Apes to the big screen in 2017.

The “Mega Man” video game series was launched in 1987 and has since spawned over 50 related games across a variety of gaming systems, selling 30 million copies worldwide. This franchise’s origin story tells of a lab assistant turned mankind-saving mega man, though it is unclear as to whether the Fox project will tackle the character’s origins in this film.
