Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play former US President Theodore Roosevelt in a new biopic from Martin Scorsese that is being set up at Paramount under the title Roosevelt.
The movie, which will explore the life of the 26th US President, will be produced by Chuck Pacheco, as well as Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson of Appian Way. Scorsese and Emma Koskoff will also produce on behalf of Sikelia.
The movie will work from a script by Scott Bloom, though it is unclear as to what aspects of the former president’s life the film will centre upon, nor is the time frame for the movie confirmed.
Roosevelt is believed to have grown under Paramount as a result of the first-look deal the studio has set up with DiCaprio and Scorsese, and will give DiCaprio the chance to play a character praised for his efforts towards conservation – something DiCaprio is very passionate about.
