‘Legend’ Sets Three UK Box Office Records

Brian Helgeland’s Legend starring Tom Hardy has broken three UK Box Office records in its opening weekend.


The movie about the Kray twins, a formidable duo of East London gangsters, opened with a £5.2million take at the box office. This figure is the single largest opening weekend gross of any film ever released in the month of September in the UK, and is StudioCanal’s biggest UK opening weekend of all time, too. Legend has also become achieved the highest opening weekend gross of any 18 certificate UK production in the region.
