I am shocked and appalled by the American film industry’s sheer arrogance at attempting to remake such a poignant film so soon after the original. The inclusions of Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig amongst the list of producers, as well as Wiig’s casting, has left me with zero hope for the production managing to recreate the atmosphere of the original and I am even less convinced that they can tackle so many themes so intricately as happened in Maren Ade’s film.
