Producer John Davis (Joy; The Man from U.N.C.L.E.; Chronicle; I, Robot) has been tasked with overseeing the project, which will be the fourth remake of the classic title following Philip Kaufman’s re-telling in 1978 starring Donald Sutherland, Abel Ferrara’s 1993 movie Body Snatchers and 2007’s The Invasion starring Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman as directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel.

The original movie is based upon Jack Finney’s 1955 novel “The Body Snatchers” in which a small, fictional California town by the name of Mill Valley is invaded by aliens which replicate humans as they sleep.

There are currently no names rumoured for the director’s chair nor a release date confirmed.
