Full List of 25 Films Submitted for Best Animated Feature Oscar

Twenty-five animated features have been submitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in a bid to earn their way onto the Oscars shortlist for Best Animated Feature at the 2019 Academy Awards due to be held on 24th February 2019.

Announced via the Academy itself today (24th October 2018), the list of prospects for the 2019 award include studio heavyweights Incredibles 2 and Hotel Transylvania 3 as well as independent features like Isle of Dogs and a string of films yet to be released, including Pixar’s hotly anticipated Wreck-It Ralph sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet.

  3. Early Man
  4. Fireworks
  5. Have a Nice Day
  6. Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation
  7. Incredibles 2
  8. Isle of Dogs
  9. The Laws of the Universe – Part I
  10. Liz and the Blue Bird
  11. Lu over the Wall
  12. MFKZ
  13. Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms
  14. Mirai
  15. The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl
  16. On Happiness Road
  17. Ralph Breaks the Internet
  18. Ruben Brandt, Collector
  19. Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero
  20. Sherlock Gnomes
  21. Smallfoot
  22. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
  23. Tall Tales
  24. Teen Titans Go! To the Movies
  25. Tito and the Birds

Netflix did not qualify their animated films Next Gen and White Fang, meanwhile the UK box office’s 2nd highest grossing animated film of the year (and 6th highest grosser overall) Peter Rabbit also didn’t make the cut.

All entries into the Animated Feature category are eligible for the Academy’s Best Picture category. The full list of final Oscars nominees will be announced on Tuesday 22nd January 2019.
