‘The Big Sick’s’ Emily V. Gordon to Adapt ‘The Nest’ for Amazon

Oscar nominated screenwriter Emily V. Gordon is set to adapt Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney’s novel “The Nest” for Amazon Studios, the same people who brought her semi-autobiographical relationship drama The Big Sick to the big screen.

“The Nest” is a New York Times best-selling novel that tells of a dysfunctional family getting together to confront their reckless older brother Leo who is responsible for endangering their trust fund, and will be the second feature-length film written by the screenwriter.

The Amazon project will be produced by ‘Transparent’ creator Jill Soloway via her Topple banner, with Andrea Sperling and Carly Kahane acting as executive producers.

The project is still in the earliest of stages and therefore does not have a release date at this time.
