2018 DGA Awards Nominees

The Directors Guild of America has today (January 11th 2018) revealed its nominees for the 70th annual DGA Awards set to take place at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday February 3rd 2018. The nominees are as follows:

Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film
Guillermo Del Toro (The Shape of Water)
Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird)
Martin McDonagh (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri)
Christopher Nolan (Dunkirk)
Jordan Peele (Get Out)

Outstanding Directorial Achievement of a First-Time Feature Film Director
Geremy Jasper (Patti Cake$)
William Oldroyd (Lady Macbeth)
Jordan Peele (Get Out)
Taylor Sheridan (Wind River)
Aaron Sorkin (Molly’s Game)

The DGA awards are usually a solid barometer for which directors will be voted for Best Director at the Oscars, with the Guild and the Academy only disagreeing on their selected winner 7 times in the 68 years that both organisations have been handing out awards.
