English actor-director, and the man at the helm of 2016’s Eddie the Eagle, Dexter Fletcher has been announced as the replacement for outgoing director Bryan Singer on the upcoming Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.
The news comes just 2 days after it broke that Bryan Singer had been fired for his behaviour towards the cast and unexplained absences from set.
Fletcher, whose other directorial filmography consists of Wild Bill (2011), Sunshine on Leith (2013) and Eddie the Eagle (2016), is perhaps best known for his time in front of the camera on films such as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998). His role at the helm of the rest of this shoot comes in advance of his directing of an Elton John biopic.
The Queen biopic will star ‘Mr. Robot’ lead Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury and is pushing for a December 2018 release.
