‘Deadpool’ Director To Produce ‘Sonic’ Movie

Famous Sega video game character Sonic the Hedgehog is being readied for the big-screen courtesy of Sony Pictures, and the studio has landed ‘Deadpool’ director Tim Miller less than a week after he departed ‘Deadpool 2’.

Miller, who departed 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool sequel citing creative differences with lead star Ryan Reynolds, will work as an Executive Producer alongside long-term Blur Studio collaborator Jeff Fowler who will make his directorial debut on the project.

Fast & Furious producer Neal H. Moritz will produce the picture written by Golan the Insatiable creators Patrick Casey and Josh Miller. The movie is said to be a CGI/Live-Action hybrid mainly focused on the same stories presented in the video game series, though it has not yet been confirmed as to which other Sonic Universe characters will join the famous hedgehog in the film.
