Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard is set to make her feature-length directorial debut with an adaptation of the Matthew Quick novel “Sorta Like a Rockstar”.
The daughter of Oscar winning director Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind – 2001) has had previous directing experience via a number of short films as well as a Lily Collins starring music video.
Sorta Like a Rockstar is yet to find a distributor despite once being on the books at Fox Searchlight, but is understood to be being produced by Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Lee Stollman of Gotham Group and Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey of Temple Hill.
The novel tells the tale of high school student Amber Appleton who secretly lives in her school bus after an altercation at home. Ol Parker (The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) has written the screenplay.
