Warner Bros. are pressing ahead with a sequel to their 2016 action-crime movie The Accountant and are looking for Ben Affleck to reclaim his role as the movie’s central character Christian Wolff.
Whilst the original movie only grossed $155million worldwide from a $44million budget, including a disappointing showing at the North American box office ($86.2million), Warner Bros. are looking to bring back director Gavin O’Connor and screenwriter Bill Dubuque as well as star Ben Affleck.
Producers Lynette Howell Taylor and Mark Williams are reportedly likely to return to the project, too.
The Accountant (2016) told the story of Affleck’s highly functioning autistic assassin Christian Wolff who worked as an accountant for various criminal organisations and became caught up in a criminal investigation with the Treasury Department.
