I’m an arts and culture writer and total film nerd with a BA in Film Studies. I love 90s-00s rom-coms, slow-burn sci-fi, film noir, and any country’s New Wave movement. My childhood heroes were Gene Kelly and Lucille Ball.

Director Alejandro González Iñárritu once said, ‘Cinema is a mirror by which we often see ourselves.’ The stories we tell reflect who we are and the world around us. They entertain us, teach us, and connect us to ourselves and each other. On film, they combine with image (and often sound) to draw us into a story world that we never truly leave even when we exit the theatre. It stays with us, affecting how we move through the world, and even has the power to change it.
