Arrow Video Launches Streaming Service in The UK

Arrow is one of the UK’s leading distributors of physical media for cult films. This week they unveiled their new streaming service, Arrow Player.

While the streaming market is dominated by services such as Netflix and Disney+, Arrow Player will likely appeal to the same cinephiles who use the smaller platforms like BFI Player and Mubi.

The majority of the content Arrow have released on Blu-ray and DVD is being made available. The service boasts a wide range of cult classics, from Donnie Darko to Oldboyall of which were curated by Arrow. Horror fans may also find some enjoyment here with slasher flicks such as Maniac Cop to spine-chilling J-horror like Audition and Ringu. While the platform primarily promotes its cult films, there are still many art-house films including the work of Lars Von Trier and foreign language classics like Bicycle Thieves

The library is fairly easy to navigate thanks to multiple collections that focus on a certain genre or decade in film. For example, there are collections dedicated to the 70s, 80s and 90s, as well as ones specializing in westerns, giallos and new cult films.

On top of this, Arrow Player offers supplementary content that is often found on their Blu-ray releases. This ranges from interviews to behind the scenes footage.

The current price of subscription sits at £4.99/month or £49.99/year. A 30-day free trial is offered to new customers. Arrow Player is also available in the US and Canada.
