Adam McKay to Direct Dick Cheney Film
Adam McKay, the Academy Award winning screenwriter and Academy Award nominated director of The Big Short (2015), is re-teaming with Paramount and Plan B Entertainment to bring to life the events that took former US Vice President Dick Cheney to the White House under President Bush in the 2000s.

McKay’s critically successful The Big Short was the telling of Wall Street’s crash in the late 2000s and Plan B producers Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Brad Pitt will be hoping that McKay can recreate that success with this picture, which will be written and directed by the filmmaker.
The movie’s subject, Cheney, has long been considered a figure of controversy, most notably for his involvement in the US entering into war following 9/11, and the picture is said to follow him from CEO of Halliburton, through to his Vice Presidency.
This movie marks the second biopic that the filmmaker has slated for future release after news that he’ll direct Jennifer Lawrence in a biopic about Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes came in June.
