Aaron Taylor-Johnson is reportedly in final negotiations to join the cast of Netflix’s upcoming historical epic Outlaw King.
The 27 year old Brit, who won a Golden Globe for his performance in Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals, joins Chris Pine in David Mackenzie’s presentation of Scotland’s fight for independence from English rule during the 14th century, taking the role of James Douglas, the trusted right hand man to Pine’s revolution leading “King of Scots” Robert the Bruce.
This news invalidates earlier reports that Pine’s fellow Hell or High Water star Ben Foster was to take on the role of Douglas.
Outlaw King is set to begin filming in Scotland this August, with Mackenzie working from his own script. There has yet to be an announcement regarding a potential release date.
