2019 Golden Globes – The Film Winners

The 76th Golden Globes were held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, USA on Sunday 6th Jan 2019 and hosted by Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh, with Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody finding huge success with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and a memorable acceptance speech from Christian Bale headlining in the aftermath.

As seems to be typical each year given the distinction the Association places between Drama and Musical/Comedy in the main categories, there was controversy surrounding the nominees for this year’s awards, especially regarding Green Book being considered a Comedy/Musical and Bohemian Rhapsody being considered a drama. Each film then won their respective Best Picture categories, earning yet more division across the vocal audiences of film critics social media users alike.

Away from the competitive awards, Jeff Bridges earned the Association’s Cecil B. Demille award (given to those who have “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment”) and was typically humble and relaxed during his acceptance speech.
