The 2018 Oscars Winners

In a ceremony that openly and abruptly confronted Hollywood’s abuse issues from across the past year, it was the great moments celebrating inclusion and acceptance – such as the #MeToo and #TimesUp celebratory video package – that stole the show at the 90th annual Oscars. Best Picture favourite The Shape of Water was the most successful of the nominees, bagging 4 awards on the night, while there weren’t any major surprises in the acting categories.

The speech of the night came from Frances McDormand who won the Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role category and invited every other nominated female filmmaker to stand with her in the midst of instructing producers and executives to fund each of their latest projects.
