Suicide Squad Comic-Con Trailer Surpasses Batman v Superman Viewership

DC Comics and Warner Bros released the trailers to their biggest 2016 releases over the course of San Diego Comic-Con last week, and despite the Batman v Superman trailer being released officially on YouTube two days earlier than the trailer for Suicide Squad, the lesser known of the two franchises has now officially surpassed the viewership figures of its more reputable brother by reaching 37million views on the studios’ official YouTube channel today – July 21st 2015.

Suicide Squad is set to be written and directed by David Ayer. The writer-director-producer is perhaps best known for his directing of End of Watch (2012) starring Jake Gyllenhaal and 2014’s Fury starring Brad Pitt, but he also has writing credits on The Fast and the Furious (2001) and the Academy Award winning Training Day (2001). The movie is currently set for an August 2016 release, 5 months after Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill.
